A Coffee and Chat

Miss Man and Linda Curtis have held two very successful Coffee and Chat session for the parents of Manford Primary School.

The first coffee morning was on Tuesday 24th November 2009. A number of parents attended and enjoyed talking to each other over a cup of coffee/tea and a biscuit.

After such a successful first coffee and chat session, the parents requested another session the following week (Tuesday 1st December 2009).

Again, this was a great morning. Many of the parents returned and in addition, some of the parents who attended the first Manford's ESOL classes attended. Everyone enjoyed catching up with each other.

A big thank you to all the parents who came to these Coffee and Chat mornings and we will see you all again in the New Year.

ESOL classes for parents

Welcome to Manford Primary School's ESOL.

Miss Man (EMAC), Linda Curtis (EAL Learning Support Assistant) and Barbara Wright (Senior Education Officer Children Services) are currently organising some more ESOL classes for parents.

ESOL (English as a Second Other Language) classes have been running for over two years for parents who speak little or no English. These sessions are intended to teach them very basic English and also to teach them strategies to help their children with their work at home.

Many of the parents who attended Manford's very first ESOL classes have returned to each course to help Miss Man and Linda. A big thank you to each and everyone of them and to all the parents who have attended the classes.
